For almost seven decades Fred Marcus Photography has been dedicated to capturing the most precious days for families.   Founded in 1941 by Fred Marcus who taught his son, Andy and his grandson Brian the skills that today make them and their principal photographers the most sought after in the New York City market as well as internationally. 

Andy Marcus began working with his father at the age of 13. Little by little he learned the techniques and nuances that made his father one of the most respected portrait/wedding photographers in the industry. Andy proceeded to build his name photographing celebrity weddings for Donald Trump, Eddie Murphy, William Baldwin, Mary Tyler Moore, Forest Whitaker and most recently Ivanka Trump, Donald’s beautiful daughter. As one client wrote,”Andy truly captured the essence of the day, sheer joy and sentiment shines through every picture.”

Andy’s work has been featured in American Photo Magazine, Photo District News, Modern Bride, Bride’s, Elegant Bride as well as feature stories in the New York Times and Newsday. One of the highlights of Andy’s career was being asked to exhibit at the prestigious Leica Gallery in Manhattan as well its’ sister gallery in Tokyo.

Andy has written a book, “Wedding Photojournalism – Techniques and Images in Black and White”, which was an instant hit within the wedding industry and has been translated into Japanese for the Asian market as well.

Andy has earned his Master of Photography and Craftsman Photographer degrees from the Professional Photographers of America. He is a frequent speaker for that organization as well as the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI)..

Most recently Andy was awarded the 2010 Leadership Award from the International Photographic Council. This honor was awarded at the United Nations in May 2010.

Andy’s work is featured by such industry giants as Epson, OnOne Software, Imagenomic Software, Tamrac, Nik Software, PocketWizard and Sekonic. He has traveled all over the world speaking and teaching his craft. Wedding photography for Andy is the most gratifying profession because he gets to spend his days with people during the happiest time of their lives and is entrusted with recording all those special moments for posterity.
